Muckerts Sawmill is proud to have been Queensland owned and operated since 1956. Over the decades we have supplied an extensive range of hardwood timber to those that enjoy fine character and warmth of true-blue Australian natives. Our diverse range includes Decking, Architectural, Appearance Grade, F14 and F17 Construction Grade and Landscaping. We can also point you in the right direction for flooring and engineered products.
Being situated in the heart of the Lockyer Valley at Laidley, means we are ideally located to service the Greater Brisbane, Toowoomba, Ipswich and Gold Coast Regions.
Sustainable Logging
Muckerts Sawmill harvesting operations are regulated and approved under State Government Legislation that requires strict forest practices. We insist that our harvesting conditions go above and beyond regulations in order to nurture the younger trees for future harvesting and future generations. We do this by implementing stringent guidelines for minimum diameter logs which are well above the state guidelines. This allows the logs to mature every 5-8 years for a new harvest.
Timber Species
All of our products are Australian Hardwood species. Our most common species include Spotted Gum (spotty), Ironbark, Blackbutt, Grey Gum, Tallowwood and Gum Top Box. Not all species can be used for a defined application so please contact us if you are unsure of your requirements. Our staff are here to make it easy for you. It’s always better to ask the question so you only have to do the job once.
Koala Conservation
All contractors are on a strict “cease and desist” policy at any sighting of Koalas or any evidence of core koala habitat. They have all undertaken a koala spotting course and are under an obligation to immediately notify DAFF (Department of Agriculture Fisheries and Forestry) of any sightings or suspected koala activity.
