FAQ

Do you sell to the public?

Yes, we sell to the public.  Check out what we have to offer on our products page.

Where does your timber come from?

Our Timber is sourced from various sites around Queensland and New South Wales.  Our harvesting operations are approved under State Government Legislation that insists on strict forest practices.  To read more about our practices click here.

What species of timber do you cut?

All our products are Australian Hardwood species.  Our most common species include Spotted Gum (spotty), Ironbark, Blackbutt, Grey Gum, Tallowwood and Gum Top Box.  For more in-depth knowledge about which species would be suitable for your project please call our staff on 07 5465 1222.

Do you have pine or imported hardwoods?

No, we do not stock pine or imported products.  We cut and stock premium structural grade Australian Hardwood only.  Although Pine products have their use in certain projects, you can’t beat the beauty of a hardwood finish.  Our Australian Hardwood will not only look amazing in any application you need but will also, if constructed properly, last for decades.

Do we deliver?

Yes, we do offer a delivery service for products ordered.  Our delivery cost will depend on your location as well as the weight and quantity of your order.  Delivery time will also vary depending on the order requirements.  To get a delivery quote from us please call the office on 07 5465 1222.

Do I have to get my timber treated?

Not all timber is required to be treated but for Spotted Gum it is a Queensland Government legal requirement to be treated to H3 standard.  This is due to Spotted Gum being highly susceptible to lyctid borer attack. All other timber can be treated depending on the application for your planned project.  Our standard treatment is for H3 rating which is suitable for above ground outdoor applications.  We can also do H4 treatment rating for inground applications.  For more information on whether your timber should be treated or not please call us on 07 5465 1222.

What treatment do you use and is it safe around kids and animals?

We use an eco-friendly treatment called Tanalith-E which is designed for long term protection.  It is a copper-based wood preservative which provides protection against most decay types and termites and also includes an organic biocide, Triazole, to control copper tolerant organisms.

Although this is a chemical treatment, it does not use any Arsenic or chromium like other treatments.  This ensures the timber is safe for use around children and animals, making it perfect for both domestic and agricultural applications and where special environmental concerns or restrictions exist.

All our treatment is to a H3 rating.  For H4 rating please contact our office for pricing on 07 5465 1222.

Are there Koalas where you are getting the timber from?

Ensuring the safety and ongoing protection of our Aussie Icon is top priority for our business.  As a business we are acutely aware of the concerns raised by the community towards our native wildlife and have taken measures to reduce the impact on these populations.  All our contractors are on a strict "cease and desist" policy at any sighting of Koalas or any evidence of core koala habitat.  All contractors have undertaken a koala spotting course and appraisal and are under an obligation to notify the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries immediately.

Can you look at my paddock to see if I have any value in my logs?

Yes, we can!  Our staff can help you with ascertaining if you have logs we can purchase.  Please call the office on 07 5465 1222 with your address, tree species on your property (if known) and the approximate land size.  We can then arrange a time suitable to come and assess your site.  Please understand that some sites aren’t viable for us, as harvesting a block requires the mobilisation of some pretty large machinery at considerable expense.
